Contrary to popular belief, Tartan golf shirts are not a thing of the past. With the new trends in golf attire hitting the market at an alarming rate, many feel that it is the true passion of all golfers to remember where the roots of the game from. Many of the big name brands such as Nike, and Cleveland still carry Tartan golf attire in their lineup.

This is not to say that Tartan is for everyone, it takes a certain conscientious soul to don the fashions of the past in today’s game. There is no mistaking the certain charm and regal appeal, that an Tartan golf shirt had on the course back in the early 1800’s and 1900’s. Tartan was believed to be the top choice of golfers with a finely pressed pair of slacks or Knickers.

As many of the top players on the tour are very appreciative of what made the game great, this was not only the development of well crafted-equipment but also the great fashions that made golfers a recognizable figure. It was not only golf shirts that came in the Tartan pattern, as many of the knee-high socks and sweater vests were also fashionably designed with this lovely diamond pattern.

As the 21st century has hit and made its mark on the golf industry, you will easily find many products that will closely resemble their distant counterparts. This fashion is anything but dead in the water, as people all around the world still love this tight knit attractive print pattern that golfers made famous in times past. Many of the older golfers in the senior tour still wear Tartan shirts and sweater vests, almost as a tribute to the fine men and women that made the game what it is now. If you are ever in a historic frame of mind, why not relive the past in a fine Tartan golf shirt on your favorite course?
